Surbiton Festival which is being held on Saturday 28th September got a boost at the meeting of the Surbiton Neighbourhood Committee last Wednesday.
Councillors unanimously agreed to award a grant of £750 to help with the 2013 Festival.
This year the Festival will be bigger and better with events held from the 21 September to the big day on the Saturday. Leaflets are being distributed which can be picked up at various places in Surbiton and also the Library.
This year’s Festival theme is ‘Mask’ and those visiting the Festival are invited to come suitably attired.
Events include the Festival launch at 11am on Saturday 21 September by the Mayor of Kingston at the Maple Road Farmers’ Market. The RNLI Rally will be held along the Queen’s Promenade on the same day.
There will be Pasta, Pizza and Pop-Up Theatre during the evening of Monday 23 September at the Zizzi restaurant in the Old Post Office in Victoria Road.
A Variety Concert organised by Surbiton Rotary is on Wednesday 25th September at St Mark’s Church on St Mark’s Hill.
Comedy Chaser on Thursday 26 September will involve Comedians entertaining in three venues – The Surbiton Flyer, The Antelope and Gordon Bennett
A Grand Charity Masked Ball black tie event is being held on Friday 27 September at the Kingston Holiday Inn on the Portsmouth Road.
On the main Festival Day there will be even more venues with events being held along Victoria Road and Surbiton Station Forecourt as usual but also St Andrew’s Square and Church, Maple Road and Clremonts Gardens.
So we can all look forward to a bigger and better Festival.
