Many of our small independent businesses in Surbiton were taking part today, Saturday 7 December, in Shop Local aimed of raising the profile of smaller enterprises and encouraging local residents to buy from shops and businesses in their local shopping parades.

Stalls set up near Fishponds Park to promote Ewell Road shops and traders as part of Shop Local.

I went along to one organised by the Ewell Road traders by Fishponds Park which is in Berrylands ward where I am a councillor.

It was good to meet a number of the local traders and also Karen Burgess of ‘A Berrylands Companion’ a useful magazine that is delivered free to households in Berrylands each month. Congratulations on providing the community news magazine for the last 8 years.
